Dr. Ifty Ahmed is a board-certified Dermatologist, Dermatopathologist and Anatomic Pathologist who has joined Brannata Dermatology as its Medical Director in January 2024. He has over 30 years of experience practicing Dermatology and Dermatopathology in both academia and private practice. He brings to Brannata Dermatology, a vast experience of diagnosing and managing a diverse array of skin ailments. In his career, he has and continues to practice with the ethos that “patient’s always come first” and as a health care provider, he embodies wholeheartedly the mission/vision of Brannata Dermatology in “providing efficient, proficient and compassionate care to the community one patient at a time”.
Dr. Ahmed completed his training at the University of Utah including Internship and Anatomic Pathology residency and subsequently, trained as a Dermatologist at the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, Minnesota under the guidance of several notable Dermatologists, who are undoubtedly considered legends in the field. After his training, Dr Ahmed joined the staff at the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, Minnesota and graduated to the rank of Academic Professor of Dermatology. He also served as Senior Consultant in Dermatology, Director of Dermatopathology and Co-Director of the Dermatopathology fellowship, prior to his departure from the Mayo Clinic. Since leaving the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Ahmed has been in private practice in Colorado and Arizona.
Dr. Ahmed has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery and International Journal of Dermatology and continues to serve on the editorial panel of the American Journal of Dermatopathology. Dr. Ahmed is the recipient of several practice and teaching awards and has over 100 published abstracts and manuscripts to his credit. He enjoys his free time traveling, fly fishing, skiing and helping his humanitarian foundation for impoverished children.
